Bestsellers come in all shapes and sizes

Lists of bestselling books, movies and music abound.

What’s interesting about those lists is the diverse nature of what makes a bestseller.

Take books.

According to Amazon, last year’s top ten book sales in the UK were led by Prince Harry’s “Spare.”

Guess what came in second.

“Bored of Lunch: The Healthy Slow Cooker Book” by Nathan Anthony.

Nathan Anthony also wrote bestseller number three.

That’s his “Bored of Lunch: “The Healthy Air Fryer Book. “

I can spot a trend here.

Or perhaps not.

Book number ten is Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Billed as “An Easy And Proven Way To Build Good Habits And Break Bad Ones.”

Could it, I wonder, help you break those lunch habits highlighted in positions two and three?

Who knows?

Now to 2024’s movies.

You’ve probably guessed that Dune leads the list, but did you know that Kung Fu Panda 4 comes in second?

Neither did I.

Bestsellers are not always what they seem.

A “best-selling product” listing on Amazon may refer only to what has sold in the last week.

Or even the day before.

The timescales are unclear except to sellers who know when their products started listing.

Likewise, bestselling sales and marketing people may emerge in your business from what you consider the least likely material.

These are people who, in time, surprise you with their diligence and determination.

The training we provide can help you build bestsellers in your business.

Like books, movies, cars and other things we like to list, they come in all shapes and sizes.

Very best,

David O’Beirne
