Explain bed sharing on business trips to your partner

Are you looking for cost savings in your business?

Hotel bills at trade shows can take a big chunk of your event budget.

One way to save is to get same-sex employees to share a bed when they travel.

The suggestion is real, but it’s not my idea.

The HR department of a company that shall remain nameless put this idea to employees ahead of a business trip to Paris.

Well, it is the city of romance.

The email highlighted that the hotel rooms booked for the trip only had one bed.

Thankfully, HR gave staff receiving the email the option to refuse (they all did).

What might surprise you is that the business in this story is not the only one to make the suggestion.

File under bad ideas.

There are better and less dangerous ways to save money, and we know many of them when it comes to events.

Saving money is important.

It improves margins and profitability and the value you extract from an event.

However, improving or increasing results has the potential to make far more money.

Combine those two elements, and you have a powerful combination.

It’s the theme that runs through all our training and consultancy.

With that in mind, the start of the autumn trade show season is getting closer.

Now’s the time to prepare.

Our three training courses cover skill levels from newbie to experienced.
