Talent spotting

15/02/24Posted in Career, Management, Training

All businesses want to attract and keep good people.

Sometimes, there are excellent team members already in the workforce.

They’re just not in roles best suited to their skills.

Discovering someone’s true talent happens over time.

You can see it after they’ve worked their way into a role.

They see ways to improve or enhance the work in their remit.

Trade shows provide an excellent way to discover or test interpersonal skills and work ethic.

Both are highly valuable traits for events and sales.

With hybrid working the norm in many businesses, any opportunity to get a team together and see them in action is invaluable.

Regarding trade shows, here’s an extract from an interview I was lucky to get with Annette Tarlton.

Annette is a highly accomplished Sales and Marketing Director.

She’s also an outstanding exhibiting expert.

“Shows are an excellent tool for team building.

Everyone is in a very different environment from their norm, so we make our hours away from the event fun, and we play hard.

It’s great for team morale.

It’s an aspect of events that can be overlooked by people new to this form of marketing.

Whatever your company size, try to take your staff out.”

Very best,
