When you feel that you’re being passed over for promotion

Do you feel like you’re being passed over for promotion?

Or perhaps you feel your work is not being given the recognition it deserves.

Either scenario is frustrating and can make you resentful.

There could be many reasons, but here are three of the most common given by bosses.

  1. “There’s no position to promote you to.”
  2. “Money’s tight right now.”
  3. “You’re not ready for a step-up.”

What’s to be done?

An excellent solution is to quantify your value to the business in ways that demonstrate how your results exceed expectations.

And the further you’ve exceeded those expectations, the better.

You want results that show you to be;

  1. An exceptional performer
  2. Someone who should not be evaluated in the same way as a colleague without those results
  3. Someone that’s highly valuable to the enterprise

Analysing results in this light has another benefit.

It helps you see what you should spend more time on.

It provides focus, and from there, you can plot your route to promotion, a raise in salary, or a bonus.

Expressing value to a boss in this way provides tangible reasons to provide what you’re asking for.

It’s harder for him or her to argue against.

If your work involves organising trade shows for your business, this course(which is all about achieving exceptional results) can help you get to where you want to go.

Very best,
