What the goal may be, only you can tell.

Appraisals should be a two-way thing.
Your boss has their say, and you have yours.
Appraisals are a chance for your boss to point out areas that need improvement or development.
Most times, what’s said is fair.
Even if you disagree strongly with elements of an appraisal, it’s best to go with the critique rather than fume inwardly or otherwise.
One excellent way to ensure a good appraisal, whatever is said, is to have a very strong set of positive results to your credit.
That’s because results are hard to argue with (how you got the results is something else).
Results that add value to the business in some tangible way are the things that will advance your career.

- New (high-value) clients landed
- Profit margin increase
- Costs saved in your area or across the business
