Do you work here?

Yesterday, I had a hospital appointment to check on the arthritis in my ankles.

Turns out that years of running and jumping around in different sports is great for your heart but devastating for cartilage.

My shock absorbers have worn out.

While walking around the long corridors en route to see my doctor, another patient asked me,

“Do you work here?”

I was puzzled by the question because I was wearing a very casual, unmedical T-shirt (it was 32 degrees outside).

He needed directions, and I was able to help.

We both got to where we needed to go.

Over the years, I’ve been asked the same question in numerous places, including supermarkets, theatres and cinemas.

Only once was I wearing a suit.

It’s the only time I might have looked “official.”

Sometimes, humans just want or need help from another human.

Yes, there are times when Google or Siri can help, but it’s more reassuring to talk to a human.

Even when you’re not sure they work in the place you happen to be.

That thinking applies to trade shows, too.

You want visitors to know who they should talk to on your stand.

So, if you’d like a stand that’s noticeable at your next event and you don’t have oodles of cash for graphics or screens,

Dress your stand team in the same colour clothing.

It’s the easiest and most cost-effective way to achieve standout.

  • It will make your team highly visible to visitors at a trade show.
  • It also makes clear to visitors who they should approach and talk to.

When team members are off your stand walking around the show, they advertise your brand.

We recently included a QR code on the back of the T-shirts for our client BDA London at PURE.

For company events and team-building days, branded gear can help to make your events more memorable and fun.

T-shirts, sweatshirts, golf jackets, or other branded items, also make great giveaways for selected visitors.
