One of the UK’s larger pet supply companies reports some cat-owning clients are using wood pellet cat litter to heat their homes.

Filing that under “who’d have thought”, I read that demand has been so great it’s triggered a rapid expansion of kitty-litter supplies and brands.

This feline tale from Pet Business World caught my eye while reading another of their animal-related stories.

It concerned the Zoomark trade show in Italy.

Next May’s event in Bologna will not only be the biggest-ever edition of the show, but 60% of exhibitors will be from outside Italy. Mama Mia!

There are three things to highlight here;

  1. Trade show attendances in the UK and Europe continue to be strong. That’s why the demand for stand space remains high. Secure yours early at shows that work for your company.
  2. Exhibiting at international shows is an excellent way to build exports and develop new markets. The Department of International Trade offers extensive support to UK businesses wishing to exhibit for this purpose.
  3. Using kitty litter to heat your home only works if you have a suitable wood burner (having a cat is not a requirement, but it could aid your credibility at the pet shop).

Here’s to a great week ahead for us all.

Very best,

David O’Beirne
